The Belfast Entries Project

This Design was commissioned by Daisychain Inc. and Belfast City Council for the recent phase 1 of the Belfast Entries Project. A project which sees the regeneration of the oldest part of our city with bespoke artworks from select Irish Street Artists.

The entries are an important part of Belfast’s built environment. They hold fascinating, untold stories of our city’s past and present, waiting to be rediscovered and brought to life. The entries are also key connections enhancing the accessibility of the city centre. The project transforms the entries into vibrant places that are safe, welcoming, playful and imaginative.

This colourful design is jam packed with subtle detailing which hint at the history of these parts of Belfast.  It is a contemporary illustration of historical Belfast. You can find the the design digitally printed onto a linen paste up and wrapped around a junction box on High Street. It is also dotted in pieces like a jigsaw in various entries.

With permission I turned the design into a commemorative tea towel, a souvenir for our city which is currently sold at Vault Pop on the Newtownards Road. Except don’t use it as a tea towel, it’s far too pretty for that! :)
